Dambai (O/R), Nov 27, GNA- The Krachi East Constituency has witnessed a series of consultative dialogues aimed at fostering unity in the area during the upcoming elections.
The dialogues have brought together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds, religious bodies, political ladders, queenmothers and Imams, who were provided a platform for constructive engagement and conflict resolution.
The constructive dialogue held in Dambai, has been instrumental in breaking down barriers and building trust among community members.
The dialogue provided a safe space for an open discussion and enabled participants to share their concerns, address grievances and work collaboratively towards finding solutions before, during and after December general elections.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (Rtd) Mr. Peterkin Gyinae, the Oti Regional Chairman of Peace Council, told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that their primary mandate was to foster peace and stability within the communities with the upcoming elections.
He said they are working tirelessly to promote peace and interact with various stakeholders the importance of maintaining peace during the electoral process.
Mr. Gyinae encouraged all the electorate to remain resolute, calm and certain that the 2024 elections, the ninth general elections in the Fourth Republic of Ghana will be peaceful, inclusive, fair and transparent.
He urged all voters to exercise these fundamental duties, rights, obligations and responsibilities without any fear.
Dr. Kenneth Ahorsu, Senior Research Fellow at the Legon Centre for International Affairs and Diplomacy (LECIAD) and the Centre for Migration, University of Ghana highlighted the urgent need for voters to take control of their own destiny and build a brighter future for themselves and their children.
He said the power to shape the nation’s future lies in their hands and that decisions they make at the polls will have far-reaching consequences.
Dr. Ahorsu reminded them that this election is not about politics; it is about building a better future for themselves, their children, families, relatives and the nation.
