Drobo, (Bono), Nov. 27, GNA – Mrs Joyce Asare Bediako, the Election 2024 Parliamentary Candidate (PC) National Democratic Party (NDP) in the Jaman South Constituency of the Bono Region, has promised to make agriculture attractive and appealing to the youth when she wins the seat on December 7.

She pledged to work closely with traditional authorities in the area and secure lands to push large-scale farming and to create employment opportunities for the youth in the area and promised to also provide financial assistance to farmers to expand their farm work.

Mrs Bediako gave the pledge at a parliamentary dialogue organised by the Jaman South Municipal Directorate of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) at Drobo.

It was to create a common platform for the various PCs in the constituency to outline their visions to electorates that would thereby make them to make informed decisions on December 7.

Unfortunately, Mr Williams Okofo Darteh, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) PC and the incumbent Member of Parliament (MP) as well as Colonel Kwadwo Damoah (Rtd), the New Patriotic Party (NPP) PC could not turn up for the event.

Mrs Bediako underlined the need to inspire or encourage the unemployed youth in the area to actively engage in crop farming and animal husbandry by providing them with modern farm inputs and equipment.

“I will therefore collaborate with agro-chemical shops and input dealers so that farmers can get subsidies in buying those inputs for their farmer work”, she said, and promised to establish farmers’ cooperatives to serve as a financial support base for farmers.

She also highlighted her vision for the education, health, and road infrastructure in the constituency. Earlier, Mr Emmanuel Oduro, the Jaman South Municipal Director of NCCE, urged the various political parties to prioritise tolerance in the electioneering.
