AICCRA trains farmers in Tolon District on crop rotation

Tolon (N/R), Nov. 05, GNA – Some farmers in the Tolon District have undergone training on crop rotation to learn and adopt good agronomic practices to help improve their yields and livelihoods. 

The training, organised by Accelerating Impact of Climate Change Research for Africa (AICCRA), was also to showcase the role of agricultural technologies in crop rotation to help increase production.  

Mr Iddrisu Muniru Mustapha, Crop Officer, AICCRA, Tolon District, speaking during the training at Tolon, said it was to empower the farmers with modern tools and equipment for effective knowledge transfer. 

He emphasised that “We prioritise farmer empowerment delivering tailored guidance and resources to bridge knowledge gaps and catalyse sustainable growth.” 

Mr Abdul Basit Zakari, Tolon District Director, Department of Agriculture, expressed readiness of the Department to support farmers in the area to increase production.  

He expressed gratitude to AICCRA for the initiative and said it complemented the government’s efforts in boosting agricultural production in the country.  

Mr Abukari Abdullah, a participant, lauded the intervention and said “AICCRA has been a game-changer for us. The training and support have significantly improved our farming practices, and the results are evident.”
