Tema, Nov. 07, GNA — Africa can deal drastically with poverty and want among its people through a purposeful governance system, Dr Benjamin Anyagre, the Chief Executive Officer of the Afro-Continental Union Consult, has said.
Dr Anyagre told the Ghana News Agency that it was about time leaders of Africa unite as one force to solve the many issues the continent is grappling with.
He stated that “one can surely assert that governance discipline in doing business and diplomacy in a robust futuristic-minded Africa one nation-state is the answer to unbottled the destiny of Africa.”
According to him, Africa as a people would be successful in engaging and yielding positive income from developed economies such as the Chinese people.
He added that this can be done in an “Africa Sovereign Interest-Based Benefits” (ASIBB) captured within the framework of a purposeful African unity agenda.
Dr Anyagre said countries such as China might find it a challenge in their global shared prosperity distribution by dealing with splinter insignificant states called governments in Africa.
He said Africa could also develop rapidly, just like the Chinese, adding that even though it was once among the beneficiaries of the International Development Association’s (IDA) donor basket, it has now become a contributor to the IDA basket.
He further advised African leadership to study the history and leadership style of the Chinese to know how they were able to lift almost one billion people from the poverty brackets.
