Fantevikorpe-Ada, Nov. 09, GNA – Ms Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, the District Chief Executive of Ada East District, has reiterated that Ada, has immensely benefitted from President Akufo-Addo’s administration.
The DCE stated this at the 40th National Farmers’ Day celebration at Fantevikope, in the Ada East District.
She said agricultural interventions from the government made it possible for all the Ada East district best farmers selected over the years for the regional slot, adding that one of its farmers was crowned the Greater Accra Regional best farmer in 2023.
Touching on climate change, she said the current change in climate demands an innovative approach to farming activities—a step from the usual rain-fed agriculture.
She lauded Zoenu residents for taking advantage of the borehole she provided them with and creating 10 more to sustain their vegetable farming activities.
The celebration saw the awarding of Mr William Apeyesi, from Atotorkope, as the Ada East Best District Farmer, receiving an SL Star motorbike, cutlasses, a piece of cloth, fertilisers, insecticides, Wellington boots, and two knapsack sprayers.
Mr Promise Osabutey, the Best Physically Challenged Farmer from Kopehem, took away a fridge, cutlasses, Wellington boots, a knapsack sprayer, a silver basin, fertilisers, and insecticides.
Mr Isaka Osah from Kaja-Soklaji was adjudged the best livestock farmer, while Mr Sampson Amaney, was awarded as the best crop farmer.
