40 students of Takoradi Technical University awarded 2024 Karpowership scholarships 

Accra, Nov.25, GNA –  Karpowership Ghana has reinforced its commitment to education by awarding scholarships to 40 students of Takoradi Technical University (TTU). 

The Karpowership Ghana Scholarship initiative, now in its third year, strives to break down financial barriers while also encouraging academic success.   

This year’s cheque-handing over ceremony, held at the TTU Auditorium Conference Room, brought together TTU management, parents, and scholarship beneficiaries. . 

The scholarship covers the full payment of fees for the selected students from the Engineering Department, offering courses in mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering. 

Madam Sandra Amarquaye, Corporate Communications Manager for Karpowership Ghana, highlighted the significance of the initiative in her speech. 

“At Karpowership Ghana, we believe investing in education is investing in the future of Ghana. This scholarship is not just financial support; it is a vote of confidence in the abilities of  

these students.  

“We hope to see them excel and contribute to the industrial and technological advancement of this country. It also aligns with our commitment to achieving SDG 4 – quality education, and SDG 5 – gender equality, as we have increased the number of female beneficiaries on the scheme this year,” she said. 

Prof. John Frank Eshun, The Vice-Chancellor of TTU,  on his part, said, “This collaboration with Karpowership Ghana is a testament to what can be achieved when corporate entities and academic institutions join forces. Together, we are building a future where no deserving student is left behind due to financial challenges. We deeply appreciate Karpowership Ghana for this life-changing initiative.” 

Dr. Moses Maclean Abnory, the Registrar of TTU, echoed similar sentiments saying, “This scholarship will have a lasting impact, not just on the students but on their families and communities as well. We look forward to seeing these students thrive and make meaningful contributions to society.” 

Student beneficiaries also expressed gratitude and shared how the scholarship has impacted their life.  

Benedicta Boadi said, “This scholarship has given me a lifeline, the sound mind it afforded me to learn helped me excel in my academics. I’m committed to excelling and  

making my sponsors proud.” 

Ali Wattata added: “This opportunity means everything to me. With Karpowership Ghana’s support, I can now focus fully on my studies and finish with good grades.” 

Parents also expressed their gratitude as Godwin Selorm,whose daughter is a beneficiary, remarked, “As a parent, this scholarship is a huge relief. It’s not just about the fees; it’s about the hope it brings. I’m incredibly grateful to Karpowership Ghana and TTU for this blessing.” 

The Karpowership Ghana Scholarship Scheme is not just about covering tuition fees. It represents a vision of building a brighter future, creating opportunities for the less privileged, and paving the way for long-term societal transformation.
