By Simon Asare

Accra, Nov.15, GNA – The Black Stars of Ghana’s hopes of qualifying for the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) were bolstered after Niger defeated Sudan 4-0.

Nigerien attacker Daniel Sosah scored twice, while Youssef Oumarou and Ousseni Badamassi scored once each to give Le Menas of Niger a convincing victory over their Sudanese opponents.

This means that Niger is temporarily third in Group F with four points, while Sudan’s Falcons, despite their loss, remain second with seven points.

Angola, which has already qualified, are at the top of the group with 12 points, while the Black Stars are bottom of the group with two points.

The Black Stars of Ghana could revive their qualification if they beat the Palancas Negras of Angola at Estádio 11 de Novembro on Friday, November 15, 2024.

This will put Ghana right in contention for the second automatic qualification spot ahead of the final group matches on Monday, November 18, 2024.
