Duakwa (C/R), Oct 16, GNA – First time voters in the Agona East Constituency have been urged to cast their ballots for Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as President and Mrs Hannah Asamoah as MP in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
According to the Parliamentary Candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for Agona East, a vote for her and Dr Bawumia would translate into jobs for the first time voters and therefore they must shine their eyes and vote for them for better hope for the future.
Mrs Asamoah made the call when she addressed teeming supporters of the party after a float as part of her campaign tour to canvass for votes at Agona Duakwa in the Central Region.
The float also coincided with the official launch of the ‘’Friends of Hannah Asamoah’’ aimed at recapturing the parliamentary seat for the party on December7, 2024.
She said she contested the parliamentary elections because of three cardinal points which are job creation to provide avenues for the youth majority of whom were university and other tertiary institutions graduates.
She said her second priority was to secure adequate financial support for women traders in the Agona East to enable them to expand their businesses to cater for their families adequately.
She said her third agenda was to woo investors both local and foreign into the Agona East Constituency to provide ready markets for farmers and offer financial assistance to them to reduce post- harvest loses and financial.
She said the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has nothing good to offer Ghanaians, especially the first-time voters who were mostly youth, adding that a vote for NDC would not bring any better policies and programmes that would transform their lives.
Mrs Asamoah said the Agona East constituency needed a change in Parliament, come December 7, adding that the Constituency had suffered for far too long over a decade of in the areas of jobs for the youth, assistance for farmers and women development.
She said the constituency could not afford to have an MP who could not lobby for jobs for the youth, farmers and women and made a passionate appeal to the electorate to cast their ballots for her as MP and Dr Bawumia as President in the December 7 polls.
Mr Kojo Halm, former chairman of the Effutu constituency of the New Patriotic Party urged the people of Agona East and Ghanaians to ignore NDC party since the party had nothing to offer them.
He recounted good social intervention legacy policies introduced by the former President J.A. Kufour such as Metro Mass Transit, National Health Insurance (NHIA), free maternal health care and many others that impacted the lives of Ghanaians.
The former Effutu Chairman, said the NDC as Opposition party had not been able to outline one policy that could convince the people, adding that the 24-hour economy outlined in their manifesto had no better explanations or comprehension.
Mr Robert Baah, the former Agona East Constituency Financial Secretary of the NPP urged the supporters and floating voters to ignore the NDC since the party was only making propaganda in its campaign messages to deceive Ghanaians but cannot deliver any better governance.
The former Secretary expressed optimism that the good people of Ghana including those in Agona East would vote for Dr Bawumia as President and Hannah Asamoah as MP to enable them to continue the good policies and programmes to improve the lives of the people.
