Togbe Tepre Hodo runs unopposed in Volta House of Chiefs election

Ho, Oct. 17, GNA – The bid by Togbe Tepre Hodo, President of the Volta Region House of Chiefs to lead the institution for a second term has received full endorsement from members. 

He ran unopposed in the Volta House elections held on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.  

The Vice President position on the other hand was contested by two members. 

Togbega Patamia Dzekle of Battor faced off with Osie Adza Terkpor of Avatime and Togbe Doglo Anumah of Avenor, but managed to hold on to the position, also for a second term. 

Togbe Patamia secured 31 votes and Togbe Anumah got 25 while Osie Adza Terkpor received 3 votes.  

Three members were elected to join the President and the Vice to represent the Region at the National House of Chiefs, and these are Togbe Gbogbolulu of Vakpo, Togbe Abutia Kodzo Gidi of Abutia, and Togbe Gabusu of the Gbi Traditional Area. 

Eight new traditional rulers were inducted into the Regional House on the day, and rulers that excelled on the various mediation committees were awarded.
