Bucharest, Oct 20, (dpa-GNA) – In a night address in the capital Chi?inau, Sandu spoke of an “unprecedented attack” on the electoral process by anti-democratic forces, and accused criminal groups of collaborating with a foreign power to destabilize the country.
There was evidence that 300,000 votes were bought, Sandu said, adding that tens of millions of euros had been spent spreading lies and propaganda.
“We are dealing with an unprecedented attack on freedom and democracy in our country,” Sandu was quoted as saying by local media.
Security authorities in Chi?inau recently said, they uncovered a cash-for-votes scheme by pro-Russian forces in advance of Sunday’s vote in the country of 2.5 million.
Sandu said she wanted to wait for the final result, and then make decisions, without providing details.
