Ashaiman, Oct. 17, GNA – The Pleasant Medical Centre celebrated its third anniversary in health care services by offering a free health screening for Ashaiman residents.
Mr. Aaron Mensah, the operations manager of the Pleasant Medical Centre, said that the health screening was to give back to the community that has supported their operations since commencement.
The theme for the celebration is: “Three Years of Providing Quality Health the Pleasant Way.”
He added that the residents, as part of the celebrations, received free breast screening and prostate screening.
The health centre also collaborated with the Tema General Hospital blood bank for a blood donation exercise.
He added that it was important to educate and sensitise the public on the importance of voluntarily donating blood to help save a life.
Mr. Mensah stated that the aim of the centre was to continually provide its clients with quality healthcare without any compromise.
He added that they were working on providing quality and affordable private health care services to residents of Ashaiman through a customer-friendly environment.
He said that as part of the centre’s mission, they have been providing free surgeries for clients within and outside the Ashaiman municipality, adding that they hoped to expand their reach.
Mr. Ebenezer Ephraim, the blood organiser at the Tema General Hospital, stated that blood donation is voluntary giving out blood to save a life, noting people have attached some myths to blood donation exercises, making people shy away from it.
He urged the public to disregard such myths, as blood collected from donation exercises is not used for rituals and neither is it a harmful activity, as it is rather a good act to preserve patients’ lives.
He therefore pleaded with communities, churches, and corporate organisations to get on board to support blood donation exercises to save lives.
