Kumasi Oct. 29, GNA – Mr Michael Kwasi Aidoo, NPP Parliamentary Candidate for Oforikrom, has donated startup tools to over 200 youth who have completed vocational and technical training to help them start up their businesses.
The donation of the tools is part of the constituency empowerment initiative aimed at supporting the youthful population in the area with employable skills that would help them create employment opportunities for themselves and help train others.
Among the items donated were sewing machines, hairdryers, plumbing and electrical toolkits, and others.
In presenting the items, Mr Aidoo advised the beneficiaries to make maximum use of the tools and work hard to grow and expand their businesses.
He said the Mastercard Foundation, which was a partner of the training programme, would help provide them with the needed assistance and guidelines to ensure the sustainability of their various businesses.
Mr Aidoo pointed out that the government alone could not fulfil all the needs of every citizen, and it was important for everyone to put in small efforts to learn vocational and technical skills that would help in creating employment for themselves.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to the Ghana News Agency expressed gratitude to the Parliamentary candidate for the gesture and promised to work hard to start and grow their own businesses for a better future.
