Let’s support the needy to access good health care—CEO Adventist Cooperative Fund

Accra, Oct. 24, GNA— Mrs Elizabeth Kusi Nsiah, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Adventist Heritage Cooperative Fund (AHCoF), has called on the citizenry to support the needy to access good healthcare.

“When Jesus came to this earth, He came to heal the sick, and that is the business we are also doing to make sure that people get good health so that life will be comfortable for them,” she stated.

Mrs Nsiah made the call on the sidelines of a donation to the Seventh Day Adventist Hospital, Gbawe in Accra by the Adventist Cooperative Heritage Fund.

The donated items were a GHc 40, 000, theatre bed and a cheque for GHC 10,000 to pay the medical bills for needy patients.

Mrs Nsiah said as part of their annual social responsibilities, the Fund supported the Gbawe community through the Hospital.

“We spoke with them, and we realised they needed a theatre bed, and also they had some people here who cannot pay their hospital bills, even though they have been discharged so those patients can also go home and be with their family and there is a needy fund that they contribute into,” she said.

The CEO said the theatre bed would help to provide the right and conducive conditions for surgeries in the facility.

Dr Hannah Konadu Adu, Medical Director (MD), SDA Hospital, Gbawe, said the donation was timely because for a while now, they had a broken surgery bed.

“Since I took over, I’ve actually been praying that the Lord should give opportunities and make a way where there seem to be no way,”

“Every now and then we fix it, and it breaks down, so a month ago, Heritage called that they want to make some donations. It was a very significant amount of GHC 50,000 and they asked whether we had projects. So, I personally told them that we have so many projects,” she stated.

Dr Adu said the theatre was a top priority, therefore that was their choice and fortunately, the money could buy the theatre bed.

“I think that this donation is in answer to our prayer request as a hospital and then as management,” the MD added.

She commended the Adventist Heritage Cooperative Fund for its benevolence and assured that it would be utilised for its intended purpose.

The Adventist Heritage Cooperative Fund (AHCoF) Limited, is an Institutional-based Self-Help Organisation set up by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, Ghana to assist and provide quality financial support to its members.
