Seketia, (B/R), Oct. 27, GNA-The Former President John Dramani Mahama, the Election 2024 Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (GNA) will be inaugurated as the President of Ghana on January 7, 2025, Mr Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, the National Chairman of the NDC has affirmed.

He, therefore, called on the NDC to brace themselves for the inauguration by contributing to successful December 7, polls and avoiding tendencies that would mar the beauty of the elections and thereby pave the way for the NDC to regain political power, peacefully.

Mr Nketiah made the call when addressing a political rally of supporters of the NDC, and chiefs and people of Seketia in the Jaman North constituency, as part of his political campaign tour to the Bono Region.

He reiterated the need for the party supporters and members to ensure a formidable front in the electioneering so that the NDC would win the elections overwhelmingly, saying Ghanaians had now understood the NDC’s government commitment to improving the quality of life of the people.

Mr Nketiah advised the electorates there to also retain Mr Frederick Yaw Ahenkwah, the incumbent NDC Member of Parliament (MP) for the constituency.

As a cashew growing area, he said the NDC government would revitalise the cashew sector, if voted into political power for the sector to contribute meaningfully towards economic growth and development while bettering the socio-economic livelihoods of the cashew farmers too.

Nana Oteng Dumfeh, the Abakomahene (sub-chief) of Kwatwoma Traditional Area called for the need for the nation to review the cashew pricing system to support local producers and appealed for the establishment of a cashew processing factory.

With the factory, he said many of the youth could get jobs and live decent lives.

Earlier, Mr Nketiah inaugurated a renovated NDC constituency office at Suma-Ahenkro, where a member of the party in the area also donated a vehicle to support the electioneering in the constituency.

His visit also took him to some communities in the Jaman South Municipality where he held similar rallies at Miremano, Gonasua, Kwameseikrom and Atuna communities.

There, Mr Nketiah urged the electorates not only to vote for the former President Mahama but also ensure that Williams Okofo-Dateh, the NDC’s Parliamentary Candidates also win the seat.

He told the people to maintain their trust and confidence in the NDC, promising that the party would complete all the unfinished development projects which were started by the NDC government and abandoned by the current administration.
