By Mildred Siabi-Mensah

Abokobi (GAR), Oct. 24, GNA – Mrs Beatrice Asamani Savage, the Director of Editorial at the Ghana News Agency has reminded Journalists of the Agency on the need for effective communication to build the nation Ghana.

She said,” well researched, packaged information effectively delivered can transform things…communicate in such a manner to build Society.”

The Director of Editorial was speaking to the Agency’s Editors, chief, Senior and other reporters, selected for the Trainer of Trainers programme under the COVID-19 Recovery project sponsored by the African Development Bank.

Over 120 Journalists from the nation’s Wire Service have been trained and out of which 30 are currently undergoing the trainers’ course as part of a broader sustainability roadmap for the programme.

The training areas: Advocacy Reporting on Health Communication, Youth Entrepreneurship, MSMEs promotion, gender and climate issues would enable the Journalists to effectively articulate issues in these areas for policy reformation, enhancement, and overall development of Ghana.

Mrs Savage spoke vehemently against reckless reportage which was not the Agency’s style…” information is an intangible good to the public and for decisions making and we cannot afford to fail the government, ourselves and families.”

She encouraged the Agency’s Journalists to exceed expectations set out by management.

The project is being implemented by the Institute for Digital Marketing and Communication Ghana.
