Ghana’s Jada Yankey sweeps 13 medals at the Africa Zone 2 Aquatic Swimming Championship

Accra, Oct. 17, GNA – Ghanaian swimming prodigy Jada Yankey won 13 medals at the just-ended Africa Zone 2 Aquatic Swimming Championship at the Borteyman Sports Complex in Accra.

The 12-year-old swimmer showcased her talent by competing in multiple categories, including the 50m, 100m, 200m, 400m, and 800m freestyle.

Jada also competed in the 400m individual medley and a variety of mixed relay events, including the butterfly and breaststroke.

In a remarkable feat, Jada faced off against swimmers aged 13 to 20, demonstrating not only her excellent technical abilities but also showing strong composure and excellent awareness in the pool.

Her performances proved challenging for her older competitors, solidifying her reputation as a formidable swimmer and one to keep an eye on in the coming years.

She has already been accepted in the hearts of her fellow Ghanaians who are excited and pray to see her win an Olympic medal in swimming one day for the country.

In other related events, Rihanna Yankey, the elder sister of Jada Yankey, also won three gold medals and one silver at the Cana Africa Aquatic Zone 2 swimming championship.

Rihanna dazzled the audience with her skills across multiple events. Competing in the 50m 100m, 200m and 400m Freestyle events and also across a number of events in Butterfly and Breaststroke including 200 Individual Medley and supporting the senior team when she was called upon.

Rihanna emerged victorious in most of her races, cementing her place as a top contender for the future.
