Ga Mantse to grace UK Homowo Festival on October 26

Accra, Oct. 2, GNA – The Ga Mantse King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, will lead a delegation to London on October 26 for the Grand Hɔmɔwɔ United Kingdom (UK) Festival 2024.

His presence at the festival is to unite the GaDangme family home and abroad, and to improve the quality of life within the GaDangme communities, allowing the people to thrive and flourish,

At a press briefing on Wednesday, in Accra, Dr Naa Affipong Tsotsoo Soyoo, President of GaDangbe UK and Ireland, highlighting the activities said Homowo UK Festival was not just a cultural event, but a movement and a powerful expression to show the world the vibrancy of the African culture.

She said the festival this year was to “help alleviate hunger caused by poverty”, which aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 2 thus, Zero Hunger.

“We are committed to making Homowo a symbol of hope and a call to action to fight hunger, just as our ancestors once did”, he added.

She said on arrival, the Ga Mantse would be received by the Emir of the UK as Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad, who was originally scheduled to meet him has just been scheduled for surgery around the time of the visit.

However, the festival is filled with many activities including “Ŋɔɔwala”, and a thanksgiving service with the Ga fellowship and Christian council in the UK.

A business forum and the launch of the Ga Mantse Foundation at the House of Lords, culminating in a special reception at the House of Commons. The Ga Mantse will be received by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, exemplifying commitment to unity and solidarity.

The festival in London will be a grand affair, starting at 2 PM at Borough Hall, Royal Hill, Greenwich, SE10 8RE.


The day will come alive with the rhythm of Ga drumming, traditional dances, authentic cuisine, and the warmth of Ga community.
