Accra, Oct. 31, GNA – Darli AI, an innovation of Farmerline Group, a global pioneering AgriTech company has been named one of TIME’s Best inventions of 2024.

“This recognition highlights Darli AI’s unique ability to empower small-scale farmers globally by bridging language gaps and offering sustainable agricultural solutions in their local languages,” a statement from Farmerline and copied to the Ghana News Agency has said.

It said the Darli AI allows farmers in countries like Kenya, Ghana, and others across Africa, Asia, and South America to interact directly in over 27 languages including Twi, Swahili, and Yoruba.

The statement said through both WhatsApp chatbots and a conversational IVR system for low-resource languages, farmers could simply call or text to engage with the AI.

“There are currently one million listeners to the Darli Helpline that are being onboarded onto the service, enabling them to receive real-time advice on everything from fertilizer and crop rotation to market access,” it stated.

It said the AI has three core functions by teaching regenerative farming practices thus empowering farmers with methods that enhance yields while protecting the environment.

It also has unique capability of tracking knowledge transfer by ensuring that farmers are not only receiving but effectively applying key insights while monitoring and measuring impact by capturing data on yield improvement and carbon sequestering.

“Darli AI assesses the real-world impact of sustainable farming practices,” the statement said.

Alloysius Attah, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Farmerline explained; “There are millions of farmers in rural areas that speak languages not often supported by global tech companies.

“Darli is democratizing access to regenerative farming, supporting farmers in their local languages, and ensuring lasting impact on the ground.”

TIME revealed its annual list of the Best Inventions on October 30, 2024, which features 200 extraordinary innovations that changes lives.

TIME, compiling this year’s list, solicited nominations from its editors and correspondents around the world, and through an online application process, paid special attention to growing fields such as health care, AI, and green energy.
