Dr Orleans–Lindsay appointed first Chancellor of Cape Coast Technical University

Cape Coast, Oct. 01, GNA – The Governing Council of Cape Coast Technical University (CCTU) has appointed Dr James Condua Orleans–Lindsay as the first Chancellor of the University. 

His tenure commences on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, and extends until Sunday, September 30, 2029. 

Being a globally acclaimed TEDx speaker, and distinguished business tycoon, Dr Orleans-Lindsay stands out as one of Ghana’s most revered business luminaries. 

He holds the position of Chief Executive Officer of JL Properties and serves as the Executive Chairman of JL Holdings, with diverse interests ranging from real estate to agriculture. 

Dr Orleans-Lindsay extensive business portfolio encompasses sectors such as construction, beverages, security, bakery, supplies, agriculture, aquaculture and consultancy across Africa and Europe. 

JL Properties is Ghana’s leading Real Estate firm providing bespoke residential affordable luxury homes within prime areas in Accra. 

JL Properties, an Accra – based multi-purpose organization, was incorporated in 2011 with excellent financial, project and strategic management.  

JL Properties’ clientele includes multinationals, public listed companies, retail customers, high net worth individuals in Ghana or who seek to invest, embassies and high our biggest asset. 

Dr Orleans-Lindsay is an alumnus of St Peter’s Senior Secondary School (Akwatia) where he obtained his O’Level Certificate and holds an A’ Level Certificate from St Augustine’s College, Cape Coast. 

Thereafter he schooled at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Biochemistry.  

He furthered his education at the University of Salford, that earned him his Master of Science (MSc) in Construction Management and later obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Construction Management from the University of Hertfordshire. 

He holds a Certification Programme in Real Estates Finance from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). 

Besides that, he holds a Certification Programme in Real Estate Development from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford. 

Dr Lindsay is an avid sports enthusiast, having previously held a position as a Board member of Accra Hearts of Oak Football Club and currently possessing a CAF Coaching certificate ‘A.’ 

He also serves on the Board of Governors at the All-Nations University in Koforidua in the Eastern Region. 

Dr Orleans–Lindsay brings a wealth of entrepreneurial and academic qualifications to his new role. 

Recognised with numerous accolades for his entrepreneurial accomplishments and contributions to society, his work embodies innovation, leadership, and a dedication to effecting positive change. 

He previously served as the president of the Ghana Association of Young Entrepreneurs and currently holds the position of Chief patron for the Cape Coast Youth Development Association. 

Born in Cape Coast and raised in Koforidua and Accra, Dr Orleans–Lindsay is a devout Christian, married to Nana Ama Abrefi Lindsay and blessed with two daughters and two sons. 

In his leisure time, he enjoys delving into autobiographies of notable achievers and watching documentaries.
