Captain Barron Foundation champions inclusivity through donation

Accra, Oct. 30, GNA – The Captain Barron Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) in the United Kingdom, (UK), has donated Sports Kits to some selected Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) in sports groups. 

Items donated include football jerseys, football boots and bibs and goalkeeping gloves, with the beneficiary groups being the Mighty Football Club, Ghana Deaf Association, Ghana Blind Football Association, Ayawaso Cerebral Palsy (CP) Football Club, Ghana Amputee Federation and Up and Shine Foundation. 

Madam Ann Marie Aglonu, a Representative of Captain Barron Foundation said the sporting kits were kind courtesy of the Brentford Football Club, UK. 

She said the Foundation was committed to empowering PWDs in Para sports. 

“We believe in the power of resilience, the strength of the human spirit and the potential that lies within every individual no matter the obstacles they face,” Madam Aglonu stated. 

She acknowledged that the beneficiary Foundations played crucial roles in promoting inclusive sports and nurturing the talents of athletes with disabilities. 

“It is our sincere hope that these kits would further support your efforts and equip your athletes with the tools they need to succeed in their respective sports.  

“We extend our deepest gratitude to Bob and Brentford FC for their invaluable support and contribution, we look forward to building on this partnership as we continue to work towards a more inclusive and empowering future for all,” she said. 

Mr Isaac Anaman, another representative of the Foundation, assured the beneficiaries of more support from it.  

Mr Emmanuel Akpabli, the Club President of Ayawaso CP Club on behalf of the beneficiaries, commended Captain Barron for their generosity and promised to put the items into good use.
