Book launch: “Is God NDC or NPP” launched for informed election decision

By Albert Allotey

Accra, Oct. 21, GNA – The Independent Non-Denominational Council, Ghana (INDeC-Ghana) has celebrated its fifth anniversary with a launch of a book titled “Is God NDC or NPP” for Ghanaians, especially Christians to make informed election decision.

The 30-page book provides the reader with the background ideologies of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) with their present and past leaders since the inception of the Fourth Republican Constitution.

It was authored by Rev Professor Clement Owusu Sarpong, the Chairman of INDeC-Ghana; President of Word Alive Bible College, and Head Pastor of Word Alive Revival Church at Fise, in the Ga West Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

Rev Prof Owusu Sarpong in an interview with the Ghana News Agency stated that God is not democratic.

“God is, at best, theocratic,” he said, adding, “We should therefore take God out of our partisan politics. God does not choose democratic political leaders, that duty is left to voters in a democracy to choose.”

He emphasised: “God is not NDC or NPP,” adding that, “The God of Ghana is a Ghanaian who is above our partisan politics. He therefore casts the last vote for whoever the majority chooses.”

Rev Prof Owusu Sarpong stated: “Ghana, my prayer for you is; choose well. God is with you. Any candidate that you choose, God will back him and support him because He (God) casts a last vote for your chosen president.”

He described the book as “humorous” and urged Ghanaians, especially politicians to take time off serious politicking and make themselves happy as they read it.

The INDeC-Ghana was established in 2019 to give voice to the voiceless pastors in the smaller churches.

Mr. Yahya Kassim Atta, NPP parliamentary candidate for Amasaman, in a message read for him, appealed to the electorate to vote for him and Dr Bawumia for a better future.

“Make no mistake…look nowhere when you get to the voting centre and vote Yahya Kassim Atta and Dr Bawumia,” Mr. Atta said.

He said: “Trust me with your vote and I will not disappoint you. This election is not about NDC or NPP…This election is not about religion, but it is about development.

“Show your love by supporting me with your vote on December 7 and I will serve you well for the next four years and beyond. I want to make history and leave good legacies for you and our next generation,” he stated.
