Assin Fosu (C/R), Oct. 19, GNA – Mr Godfred Nti Anewu, Parliamentary Candidate (PC) on the ticket of the NPP in the Assin Central Constituency, has presented tools and equipment to more than 100 youth to facilitate their apprenticeship training.
He also disbursed an amount of GH¢300,000 to more than 1000 individuals to support them in their businesses.
The tools and equipment included sewing machines, baking and carpentry tools, hairdressing equipment and many more with an estimated GH¢700,000 for the entire exercise.
According to Mr Anewu, the initiative would help address the financial difficulties faced by individuals in apprenticeship and entrepreneurship.
He said apprenticeship and entrepreneurship were two complementary forces that could empower individuals, foster economic growth, and transform the Constituency and the nation.
The PC admonished individuals in apprenticeship to focus on the training to enhance skills acquisition, knowledge transfer, productivity, and efficiency which they would benefit on completion.
Mr Anewu took the opportunity to canvass for votes, saying he would do more if voted as the next Member of Parliament, for the constituency and the NPP was retained in power.
Mrs Mary Frimpong, a beneficiary hairdresser, said the equipment would help her improve upon her skills and become a better hair stylist.
Mr Kofi Wisdom, a carpenter, was grateful to the PC for his bold initiative which would enable him to set up a carpentry shop after training and train others as well.
The program was attended by the rank and file of the NPP in the constituency.
