Akan NPP inaugurates campaign team

Kadjebi (O/R) Oct 20, GNA – The Akan Constituency of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has inaugurated a campaign team at Kadjebi in the Oti Region.

The team comprising of the current and past Constituency Executives, Council of Elders, and the Polling Station Executives was headed by the Parliamentary Candidate and the Constituency Chairman.

They are mandated to help garner enough votes for the Party and wrestle the Akan Parliamentary Seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Inaugurating the team, Mr. Jonathan Akpabey Manu, Oti Regional NPP Secretary, asked the team to engage in house-to-house campaign for the Party to win convincingly.

He advised them to “avoid any acts that would undermine the fortune of the Party in winning the Akan Seat for the first time.

Mr. Salisu Bamba, a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejura Constituency in the Ashanti region, urged the constituents to vote for NPP instead of sticking to the NDC for the past 32 years without getting any developmental projects from them.

He said as a former Legislator, he knows all MPs received GETFund, MP’s Share of Common Fund, NHIS Fund, among others, which they use for development projects, even if they were in the opposition.

Mr. Bamba, thus, appealed to the electorate to vote massively for Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as President and Mr. Mustapha Tassah as MP come December 7 to change the narrative.

Mr. Rabiu Awal, NPP Akan Constituency Chairman, urged the Party faithful in the Constituency to canvass for votes for them to win the Seat.

“Be part of the history in breaking the eight with Lawyer Tassah as MP,” he advised.

Mr. Maxwell Quofi Blagoge, former Deputy Regional Minister for Oti, asked the supporters to woo votes for the NPP.

Mr. Tassah, the Akan NPP parliamentary candidate, said he was ready to serve the constituents with all his heart.

“I can see your anger for development, you will see development under my tenure.” Everything for Akan will come to Akan,” he assured.
