Accra, Oct 22, GNA – The Action Alliance Party (AAP) has officially endorsed Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the upcoming December 7, 2024 election.
The newly certified party stated that its support would help secure a victory for Dr Bawumia and sustain the progress achieved under the NPP-led government over the past eight years.
In a statement issued in Accra on Monday and signed by Mr Namuru Tahiru, the Founder, the AAP highlighted that Dr Bawumia’s vision aligned with its own, particularly regarding the transformation of the agriculture sector and the promotion of modern, sustainable practices.
They emphasized the importance of leveraging technology in agriculture and fostering a diverse economy to create robust job opportunities for Ghanaians.
“AAP, we focus on bridging the gaps between farmers and markets, providing real-time data and connecting them to consumers directly through technology.
“This will ensure fair pricing and reduce post-harvest losses, creating a more resilient agricultural sector.
“We envision a Ghana where farmers are empowered with access to high-quality seeds, modern irrigation systems, and training programs,” it said.
The AAP also called for a strong education system focused on vocational training and STEM, aiming to equip the youth with skills for the global market.
They urged Ghanaians to reject the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and its Flagbearer, Mr John Dramani Mahama, advocating instead for a commitment to digitalization and economic transformation under the NPP.
“Voting for reset would mean bringing Dumsor back, a reset is like the cancellation of teachers’ allowance, a reset means emptying your computer without a memory,” it said.
The AAP is a registered political party under the Electoral Commission of Ghana.
It received its final certificate on October 2, 2024.
