Keta (VR) Oct. 25, GNA – Dr Mahamadu Bawumia, the Flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Election 2024, has appealed for massive support from the Volta Region for the party’s continuity of more development projects.

He made the appeal during the party’s campaign tour of Kingeta in the Volta Region, urging all to rally behind the NPP to implement more interventions and policies for a better future.

Dr Bawumia in his campaign messages emphasised that the NPP would support Fisherfolks along the coastal belt with new solar outboard motors to avert the insufficient premix fuel challenges for better productivity.

“We know insufficient premix fuel supply is one of the biggest challenges facing our fishermen and we are going to introduce the outboard motors that will use solar and electricity to curb the challenges,” he stated.

Dr Bawumia said his government would engage and train fisherfolks on how to use the new motors, which would be purchased on credit by all to be paid later.

He also mentioned the introduction of the policy of “’buy Ghana things first,” to help create jobs for the youth and boost the economy, while women would also receive trade empowerment funds to expand their businesses.

“The next NPP government will amend section 63 of the chieftaincy Act to give more power to our chiefs. We will empower and resource Queen mothers, Divisional chiefs together with the Paramount chiefs on payrolls”.

Dr Bawumia promised to classify Churches, Mosques and other religious bodies as development partners that would continue to impact change in the various societies.

He stressed that NPP would also support persons living with disabilities (PWDs) with free tertiary education to help change and impact on many lives.

He emphatically stated that, “Our society, religion and culture does not support LGBTQI+, no matter the cause and the effect we will never support the act”.

He appealed to all eligible voters to prioritise the good policies of the party and also vote massively for all NPP parliamentary candidates to win the 2024 election.

Dr Bawumia’s campaign team was highly welcomed in a fully charged atmosphere by thousands of supporters within the Keta constituency, who trooped to the campaign grounds with victory songs, while draped in NPP colours to support the party.

Some supporters of the NPP interacting with the GNA expressed high hopes that the party would win the December 7 polls to break the eight for the continuity of better policies.
