Accra, Sept. 3, GNA – Ghana international and Coventry City striker Thomas Bradon Asante, hopes to score goals for the Black Stars and become part of the country’s great football history.
The highly-rated attacker was named in Ghana’s squad to face Angola and Niger in the 2025 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying double header.
Speaking in an interview after the team’s first training session in Accra on Monday, the 25-year-old striker expressed his excitement about featuring for the Black Stars.
“It was a blessing to be playing at the Kumasi stadium for the first time, and the atmosphere is something I have never experienced in my career.
“As a striker, it is all about being a threat and scoring more goals, and that is what I want to achieve here,” he said.
When asked about his readiness for the upcoming task against Angola, Asante was optimistic about winning the encounter to mark a good start of the Black Stars qualifying campaign.
“Angola is not going to make it easy for us, but with the determination and talent in our squad and the hunger for success we have, we are going to come out successful.
“We are still coming together, but we know that going to any qualifier every team wants to win, and we would give it our best,” he said.
The striker would be hoping to mark another appearance for the Black Stars on Thursday, September 5, 2024, when they face the Palancas Negras of Angola.
