Tema, Sept. 3, GNA – Some residents in Tema have endorsed the plan of the New Force Movement to industrialise all 16 regions of Ghana and urged all political parties to think along that line.
Nana Kwame Bediako, commonly known as Cheddar, the Leader of the New Force Movement, outlining his 12 pillar plans to transform Ghana if voted as president, said industrialisation of the sixteen regions was an important pillar the country needed to revamp the economy.
The residents, reacting to this, noted that when implemented, it would ensure even distribution of economic activities, improve job creation, adjust infrastructure development, stimulate local economies, as well as reduce overpopulation in the Greater Accra Region.
They told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview that Ghana was one of the few countries that is blessed with so many resources needed to develop a nation; however, bad leadership coupled with policy failure had been one of the major challenges hindering development.
The residents of Ghana’s industrial hub suggested that other political parties should collaborate with the New Force or adopt some of its ideas for the betterment of the country.
Mr. Richard Fianke, a nurse, said: “Cheddar will break the two-party system in Ghana; his ideas are great, and industrialising all the regions is the best; almost all the regions have their own unique resources, and adding value to them would be of great help to the nation.
“I wasn’t paying attention to him until I listened to his presentation; I fell in love with him immediately; he seems to have brilliant ideas, and his manifesto stands out. It is not that our leaders are not aware of this development, but most of them are amassing wealth into their families,” he added.
Madam Rita Kwapong, a trader, said: “I think it’s about time we give the youth the chance to see what they can do. I listened to his presentation, and I was amazed.
“We need to give him the chance to see what he can do. NDC and NPP are not helping, and I’m glad we have a force that could break the system in the future. Even if he doesn’t win now, tomorrow he will; he’s a national asset.”
Mr. Ebenezer Nyamador, a businessman, said: “The reason a lot of people move to Accra is to search for jobs; so, our leaders can industrialise all the regions, putting the right measures in place; it is good after all the resources are already here.
“His ideas are brilliant, but it’s easier said than done; he hasn’t handled any position in the country for us to see his handwriting; being president would not be an easy thing; you may have all the ideas, but making it happen is a different thing all together; if our leaders would collectively adopt some of his ideas and implement them, it would benefit the country.”
