Ho, Sept. 30, GNA – Dr Archibald Yao Letsa, Volta Regional Minister has called on the Ghana Institution of Surveyors to take advantage of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence and advanced surveying technologies to impact the lives of Ghanaians.
He said surveyors played a critical role in ensuring land resources were managed efficiently and equitably, which was essential for national development.
Dr Letsa during the 2024 Conference of the Valuation and Estate Surveying Division of the Ghana Institution of Surveyors in Ho emphasised the importance of sustainable surveying practices and inclusive governance in the effective implementation of the Land Act 1036.
He said the development of the country hinged on a transformed, transparent, and effective land governance system.
Dr Letsa said the land sector had shown that with the right leadership, it was possible to change the narrative surrounding Land Governance in Ghana.
He commended the Ghana Institution of Surveyors for their continuous efforts in professional development and their commitment to upholding high standards in the surveying profession.
Dr Letsa urged the participants to actively engage with the new Land Act and to contribute to its successful implementation through their expertise and dedication.
The Conference was on the theme: “Sustainable Surveying and Inclusive Governance: Mastering the Land Act 1036.”
It provided the platform for surveyors to discuss the challenges and opportunities presented by the Land Act 1036, and to explore innovative solutions for sustainable land management in Ghana.
