Preaching the Gospel not sole preserve of men of God – Baptist Clergyman

By Christiana Afua Nyarko

Accra, Sept 9, GNA – The Reverend Samuel Ohemeng Damptey, the Associate Pastor of Changed Life Baptist Church, says sharing of the Gospel is not the preserve of the clergy, but all believers.

Rev Damptey, quoting Biblical scriptures such as 2 Timothy 4:7, Acts 26:19-20 among others, said, all believers had also been called to preach the Gospel hence must identify the purpose in which it must be propagated to fulfil God’s purpose on the Earth.

“All of us have been called with a specific duty, assignment and gifts. Some were called to sing, others were called to do the work of ushering, some to mentor people, women, children. We have different ministries. So when we talk about the chosen it is not only those bearing the duties of the five fold ministries. If you are a believer, you are included,” he said.

He said this during an ordination service held at the Perez Chapel for Miss Cecilia Dansu to publicly confirm her as a licensed minister of the Gospel.

The ordination service was done by the Dominion College of Bishops in collaboration with the Honeycomb Ministries.

The Rev. Cecilia Dansu, the newly ordained pastor of Honeycomb Ministries, in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said having been officially recognised as a Minister of the Gospel, she was ready to impact many more lives.

“I see this ordination as a humbling opportunity to serve God..,” she said.

Rev. Cecilia Dansu received formal theological training earning a Diploma in Biblical Studies and a Certificate in Digital Theology and Ministry from Ministerial Studies and Seminary, all at North Kaneshie, Accra.
