Police arrest 487 QNET Ponzi Scheme operators

Accra, Aug. 4, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Police Command has arrested 487 members of the QNET Ponzi Scheme in Kumasi. 

A press release issued and copied the Ghana News Agency by the police said the suspects were arrested on September 2, 2024, through an intelligence-led operation. 

“The suspects, consisting 257 females and 230 males, were arrested in a house located at Adwuman near Kenyasi, a suburb of Kumasi,” it said.  

It said “Preliminary investigations established that the suspects through the scheme, successfully enticed unsuspecting persons from various parts of the country under the guise of offering lucrative returns on their investments.” 

The release said exhibits retrieved from them included registration documents and other materials bearing the QNET logos.  

“Twelve of the arrested suspects who have been identified as executives of the scheme are Gyereh Evelyn, Francis Kpesah, Samuel Musah, Simon Yakubu, Thomas Kotual, Kwasi Nyabi, Benjamin Nsigma, Elijah Musah, Moses Katu, John Balabon Tagnakibi, James Nogma, and Fidelis Bang-ib,” it added.  

They are currently in Police custody assisting the investigations. 

“We would like to take this opportunity to urge the public to be wary of such schemes and report such activities to the Police,” the release said.
