Accra, Sept. 3, GNA- The People’s National Party (PNP) has confirmed Ms Janet Asana Nabla, a health administrator, as its flagbearer for the 2024 General Election.

The decision was taken at the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Sunday, September 1, 2024.

A statement signed and issued by Mr Suleman Seidu, General Secretary, PNP, said the party had also selected Dr Edmund Ayesu, Senior Research Fellow, Kumasi Technical University, as running mate to Ms Nabla.

Ms. Nabla and Dr. Ayesu initially picked nomination forms to contest the Flagbearer position when the party closed nominations on August 15, 2024.

The PNP said the confirmation of the two candidates by NEC marked a significant milestone in the history of the Party.

“The NEC’s decision underscores the party’s confidence in Ms Nabla and Dr Ayesu as the ideal team to lead the PNP into the upcoming election. Their combined expertise, passion, and strategic vision are set to redefine Ghana’s path to progress, focusing on the pillars of Family, Community, and the Motherland,” the party said.

The PNP received its provisional certificate from the Electoral Commission in June this year in accordance with Section 8 (2) of the Political Parties Act, 2000 (ACT 574).
