Nyankumasi Ahenkro (C/R), Sept. 21, GNA – Traders at Nyankumasi Ahenkro Market breathed a sigh of relief when Mr Stephen Kofi Baidoo, the Assin South National Democratic Congress (NDC), Parliamentary Candidate (PC) commissioned a urinary and lighting system at the market.

The PC said he was touched by the plight of the market women who had no decent sanitation facility at the market and decided to help them.

He said, the move was to assist the traders as vital contributors in the community who deserved a dignified environment to conduct their business.

Again, he mentioned that the urinary was to promote hygiene, dignity and comfort for the hardworking women and other traders, who were the backbone of the local economy.

Mr Baidoo emphasised that, as a native of the land, he had to ensure that some basic amenities were available to them to enable them do business in a conducive environment.

The four room urinary is clean, spacious, tiled and well ventilated.

He advised users of the facility to handle it with care as more would be done when voted as the next Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin South Constituency.

Similarly, he commissioned a lighting system at the market to improve visibility and trade, during the night.

Mr Baidoo admonished supporters and sympathisers of the NDC to vote massively for Mr John Dramani Mahama as President.

Mrs Akua Brago, leader of the market women expressed gratitude to the PC, saying the facility would improve the health and hygiene of the women.

She said, the project demonstrated that the PC would in future address pressing needs of the traders and promote a better quality of life for all.

On his part, Mr Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Parliamentary Candidate for the Abura-Asebu-Kwamankese Constituency, appealed to all to rally behind Mr Baidoo as he stood tall among the lot.

He urged the teeming supporters of NDC to vote in their numbers to change the New Patriotic Party which had nothing to offer the constituency.

He pledged that the next NDC administration would construct a modern market for the good people of Nyankumasi Ahenkro.
