Dambai (O/R), Sept 4, GNA- Presidential aspirant of the People’s National Convention (PNC), Mr Bernard Mornah has indicated his willingness to procure additional ferry on River Oti to ease crossing, when he becomes president in 2025.

Mr Mornah in an engagement with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) gave the assurance during his tour of some districts and municipalities in the Region.

He assured residents of Dambai in the regional capital that should he become Flagbearer and eventual President of the PNC and Ghana after the December polls, their problems with crossing the river would no longer be an issue.

Mr Mornah said two ferries would enhance the capacity of the Volta Lake Transport Company in providing safe and secure ferry services to communities along the catchment areas of the river.

“In addition, it will support agricultural activities within the farming communities and marketing centres,” he told GNA.

He explained that Oti Region is a food basket of the country but unfortunately the state had decided to turn a blind eye.

” It is possible to construct a bridge from riverbank here in Dambai to Dordoe-Korpe, if you go to China this is one day work, they will fly a bridge over the river within 24- hours”.

In another development, Mr Mornah revealed that the party has decentralized its national delegates Congress across the 16 regions and urged PNC delegates to choose him in the party’s upcoming presidential primaries, which is slated for Saturday, September 7,2024.

“I will need your support to be elected as the party’s candidate to lead it to victory in 2024,” he said.
