Israeli strikes kill at least 14 in Syria, state media says

Damascus, Sept. 9, (dpa/GNA) – Israeli airstrikes have killed 14 people in Syria’s Hama province, the official SANA news agency reported on Monday.

Another 43 people were injured, including six who are serious condition, SANA added.

Strikes late on Sunday targeted a number of military sites in Hama. The country’s defence systems intercepted and shot down some of them, it said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which has been documenting violence in Syria since 2011, put the death toll at 18.

It said that Israeli warplanes attacked targets near the city of Hama, in western Syria.

Israel has been bombing targets in Syria to prevent Iran and its allied militias from expanding their military influence in the war-torn country.

Israeli attacks on Syria have increased since the Gaza war began on October 7.
