Ejisu (Ash), Sept. 07, GNA – Ghanaians will not forgive the NPP if it fails to maintain political power in the December elections.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, former NPP constituency chairman for Afigya-Kwabre South, who stated this, said Ghanaians were eager to see the continuation of the various social intervention programmes, which were being implemented by the government, and any mistake by NPP to let them down, would be catastrophic.
Addressing hundreds of NPP supporters at the Ejisu constituency campaign launch on Saturday, he said it was important for every party member to work with each other to ensure total victory for the party in the December elections.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah pointed out that, NPP was the only party which provided equal opportunities for every person through the implementation initiatives that benefited all.
He said if NPP allowed the NDC to take power in the December elections, all the social intervention programmes, especially, the free SHS policy would be cancelled.
Odeneho Kwaku Appiah said every home in the country had benefitted from this audacious policy and it was important for the party members to work hard and canvass for votes to help the party retain power and continue with the implementation of the programme.
He appealed to all aggrieved members of the party to forgive and come on board to work with others to ensure that the party stayed in power in the December elections.
Mr Kwabena Boateng, Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, said Ejisu was key in Ghanaian politics and tradition, and it was important for the people to support NPP to maintain its status in the country’s politics.
He said anytime NPP was out of political power, nothing goes on in the constituency.
Mr Boateng pointed out that, Ejisu had been the backbone of the electoral victories of the NPP and it was important for the people to continue in that tradition to help bring the needed socio-economic development and transformation of the area.
Other speakers at the campaign launch were Mr Vincent Asafoa, Old Tafo MP, Mr Yaw Anim, MP for Kumawu, Mr Francis Adomako, Ashanti Regional Organizer, Madam Victoria Owusu, Second Vice and Mr Patrick Acheampong, First Vice.
Others were Mr Agyeman Budu, former Managing Director of ECG and Mr Raphael Patrick Sarfo, Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer.
