(W/R), Sept. 21, GNA – Ghana National Gas Company has commissioned a renovated Boys’ Dormitory block for the Nkroful Agricultural Senior High School in the Ellembelle District as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).

The move followed an appeal by management of the school to Corporate Ghana to respond to the dilapidated state of the dormitory block which had not seen renovation since 1962 when the school started as Nyaniba Middle Boarding school.

A Community Relations Manager at the Ghana National Gas Company, Mr Sarfo Hayford at the commissioning, said on behalf of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the Board Chairman that the Ghana National Gas Company would continue to give back to communities within its catchment area as part of their CSR.

He said the Company in 2022 commissioned an ultra-modern one-storey 24-seater toilet facility for the school.

Mr Sarfo Hayford hinted of the Company’s preparedness to impress it upon the CEO and the Board Chairman to construct a-12-unit classroom block for the school.

He appealed to Management, staff, and student bodies to maintain facilities in the schools.

The headmaster of the school, Mr Joseph Kwaw Blay on behalf of Management expressed profound gratitude to Ghana Gas Company and the Contractor for adding more value to the school with a befitting monument as a legacy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah.

Mr Kwaw Blay said NASS was the only transitional school in the district running the double track due to limited infrastructural facilities such as classrooms, dormitories, and the like.

He said the school was in dire need of a-12-unit classroom block as part of measures to revert to a single track school and appealed to the Member of Parliament and the District Chief Executive to come to the aid of the school.

The Western Regional Director of Education, Mr George Effah thanked Ghana Gas for the partnership with the Ghana Education Service in the quest for good quality education delivery and raising standards in the Western Region.

Mr Effah noted that the gesture would impact positively on the academic pursuits of students in the school and thanked the government for the free Senior High School policy which had improved upon access to education.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr Kwasi Bonzoh whose speech was read on his behalf, thanked Ghana Gas for their Corporate Social Responsibility in the Nzema area, adding that the free SHS policy had made access to education easier.

He appealed to Ghana Gas Company to bring more development to the school and the Nzema area and assured that the contractor would soon resume work on the Girls’ Dormitory block and complete the project within one month.
