Accra, Sept. 3, GNA- Mr Eric Edem Agbana, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Candidate for the Ketu North Constituency, has set a target of 95 per cent of votes in the December 7 elections.

Mr Agbana, a former Deputy Youth Organiser of the NDC, made this known when he launched his campaign and Manifesto at Dzodze in the Volta Region on Sunday, a statement shared with the Ghana News Agency indicated.

Addressing party supporters from the constituency, he said that, while the initial target had been to secure 85 per cent of the votes in Ketu North, a poll undertaken by his team indicated a landslide victory.

“Our working target was about 85 per cent, but at the last survey, there’s every indication that we can secure 90-95 per cent of the total votes in this constituency for the NDC. This is largely due to the work we have done since I became the Parliamentary candidate.

“It is all about the work we have done, our message and the fact that the good people of Ketu North can clearly see development on the horizon and will come out in their numbers to vote massively for President Mahama and I come December 7,” he said.

The former University of Ghana Students Representative Council President also unveiled his vision for the constituency, highlighting youth development, skills acquisition, jobs, education, social and economic infrastructure, and support for the vulnerable and aged as the focus of his development agenda.

Dr. James Klutse Avedzi, the Outgoing MP for Ketu North, and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee in Parliament, applauded Mr. Agbana for his hard work and expressed confidence in him as his worthy replacement.

Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, a former Minority Leader in Parliament and MP for Tamale Central, said the next NDC government under President Mahama would construct the Ho-Dzodze road and other social infrastructure, and urged people to vote for the NDC on Election Day.

Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, MP for North Tongu, expressed confidence in the competence of Mr Agbana and thanked the chiefs and people of the area for the support given him.

The NDC officially inaugurated its working committees at the event and tasked the various teams to work with the constituency and regional executives to deliver victory for the NDC in the Constituency.
