He stated that “Luckily for Ashai, he’s contesting someone who is a chief executive; Ashai has been chief executive before; we shall compare chief executive to chief executive; luckily again, Ashai has been MP for four years; we shall compare Ashai’s four years with the predecessors eight years.”

“I am very confident; the records on the ground, the records in parliament, and the records with the community will attest to the fact that Ashai has no match; I know for a fact, I’m convinced beyond every doubt, and I have the greatest assurance in myself and in the great NDC that Ashai has filed today is on the road to maintain the seat for NDC,” he further stated.

The incumbent mentioned that he had been able to connect with the people, advocated and cared for the needy, and lobbied for resources, saying that the elderly, adding that other projects he embarked on included care for the elderly, a back-to-school project for senior high school students, the provision of free health insurance for children, and the provision of recreational facilities.

He urged the supporters of the NDC and Ghanaians to be focused and vote for the flag bearer of the party, former president John Dramani Mahama, and himself to bring more progress to the nation.

According to him, the NDC party had always followed laid-down procedures and rules to ensure a peaceful election and would continue to do so; however, they would not slack for anybody or party to cheat them in the upcoming election.

He thanked the supporters for their support and contribution towards the party and urged them to help bring the NDC back to power.
