By James Esuon

Nsaba (C/R), Sept 4, GNA – The Agona East Constituency branch of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has launched its Youth Wing with a clarion call on members to unite and adopt strategic plans to break the ‘’8 ‘’ to retain power.

The launch which brought together both old and new constituency executives as well as council of elders, was under the theme; “Building a formidable, united front to break the 8.”

Addressing party supporters, Mr Kenneth Quansah, the Central Regional Youth Organiser   said the formation of the wing, had obviously rekindled and reenergized the readiness of the youth to spur on the party to break the 8 in the upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections.

He said the youth of Agona East were prepared to work assiduously to recapture the seat, adding that research had shown that consistent losing of the parliamentary seat in the constituency was due to misunderstanding and internal wrangles.

Mr Quansah gave the assurance that everything possible would be done to resolve all issues that bedevilled the ordinary people to ensure total victory for the party.

According to Mr Quansah, the youth of the country could not entrust the governing of the country to the NDC Presidential candidate again because he had nothing good to offer them, save energy crisis which led to collapse of jobs.

He said the youth must rally support for Dr Bawumia to win as president and Mrs Hannah Asamoah as MP for Agona East to enable them have prospects in the future, adding that elections had serious ripple effects if the rightful choice was not made.

The Regional Youth Organiser said the former President who had stayed in opposition for eight years was unable to come out with any comprehensive policy that could give hope to the youth.

According to him, the NDC Presidential Candidate’s 24-hour economy sought to promote the activities of night clubs and pubs adding that all the promises given in his manifesto were vain and asked the teeming youth to vote for NPP for jobs and wealth creation.

Prof Kwesi Yankah, former Minister of Education in charge of Tertiary, urged the youth, especially SHS students who were eligible voters to cast their ballots massively for Dr Bawumia and Mrs Asamoah to win the December 7, elections to consolidate their secondary education.

The former Minister said there was ample evidence to show that NDC would never spare the novel free SHS policy implemented by Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s government enjoyed by the youth.

Prof Yankah called on the ordinary people of the party in the Agona East, especially the youth and constituency executives to bury their political differences which was the only panacea to push and propel them to be on board to recapture the seat.

He disclosed that the government under President Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia had embarked on aggressive infrastructural development in secondary schools and rural electrification projects for Agona East which needed to be completed to improve the living standards of the people.

Mr Alfred Obeng, Agona East Youth Organiser of the party hinted that the purpose of the youth wing was to rekindle the spirit of party supporters, especially the youth to seek advice and inspiration to help break the 8 on December 7.

He expressed concern about the unsuccessful contest of election by Agona East NPP and hoped that sober reflection would be taken to change for the better.

Mr Obeng said unity was the only panacea to rescue the constituency, adding that ‘’we must solve our individual differences, accept that we are in tough times as a party, and work to win the elections regardless of our differences’’.

The Youth Organiser called for cooperation as they worked as one formidable team towards a common goal.

Mr Obeng therefore called on the supporters to reach out to the members who were peeved and had decided to sit on bench to join the train to ensure that the vision of the party was achieved.

Mr Prince Yaw Essah, Agona East Constituency Chair of the party said the members were ready to recapture the parliamentary seat from the NDC come December 7, to help address the challenges of the constituency.

The Chair presented 1,000 ‘T’ shirts to the party executives and further pledged 4, 000 more to as part of his contribution towards the growth of the party.

Mr Essah called for unity and understanding among the ordinary people of the party, adding that without a united front, it would not be possible to achieve the objective of the party.
