Abesim PCG Amazing Grace Congregation makes strides in growth – Rev. Ofosu Asiedu

Abesim (B/R), Sept. 3, GNA – Reverend Bright Kwabena Ofosu Asiedu, the outgoing Minister In-Charge of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, Amazing Grace Congregation at Abesim, near Sunyani, has acknowledged various remarkable strides made by the church in its activities.  

He indicated that the church’s spirituality and spiritual growth had been enhanced over the past five years, under his leadership, and that this had brought greater revival into the church. 

Rev Ofosu Asiedu made the remark in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at the end of a special thanksgiving and send-off church service organized in honour of him for his sterling stewardship. 

“The church members are keeping faith in their financial obligations, thus, strengthening its finances that had helped build store rooms and rented them; constructed borehole to aid water supply to the church,” he said. 

“We also bought a Toyota Coaster Bus to support the activities of the church; made efforts to secure the church’s lands, and most importantly, planted a church at Agya Appiah, a suburb of Abesim – all within the last five years under my leadership,” he enumerated. 

He urged Christians to let their works and lifestyle reflect their faith and make a difference to impact positively on society. 

“There’s a wide difference between Christianity and church. Let’s obedience to God’s word, separate you from merely going to church,” he stated. 

Rev. Ofosu Asiedu had been elevated as the newly elected Presbytery Clerk of the Brong Ahafo Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), which has 31 districts covering part of Bono, Bono East, Ahafo, and some parts of Western North Regions. 

He was posted to Amazing Grace in 2019, from Mesidan, near Techiman, in the Bono East Region. 

Rev. Oforu Asiedu expressed gratitude to the congregation and all and sundry who helped to make his five years stewardship to the Glory of God and called on the congregation to keep up the spirit and extend same to his successor. 

The ceremony was chaired by Nana Olichey Ansu – Gyeabour, Sompahene of the Abesim Traditional Council.
