Sunyani, Aug. 23, GNA-The Parents Association (PA) is putting up a three-storey residential bungalow for the teachers of the Twene Amanfo Senior High and Technical School (TASTECH) in the Sunyani Municipality.
The association is funding the project at the cost of GH¢450,000, which would also enable the teachers to monitor the movement and control indiscipline among the students.
According to Mrs Veronica Tuffour Berko, the PA Chairperson, said the facility was part of plans to properly position TASTECH, as it gradually turned into a boarding school.
Speaking at a groundbreaking ceremony, held at the school premises in Sunyani, Mrs Berko said “Facility is one of the critical infrastructure requirements for a boarding school and we hoped to complete it on time for use.”
Mr Obeng Mensah, the Headmaster of the school, said the facility had Master bedrooms, living rooms, washrooms, kitchen, and other facilities, saying as part of its contributions, the technical students would provide labour and other services.
Mr Ransford Antwi, the Board Chairman of the School, expressed appreciation to the PA for the initiative that would facilitate effective teaching and learning and improve the academic performance of the students.
