Tema, Aug. 26, GNA-Mr. Michael Quainoo, a renowned chef and culinary icon, has called on the public and the hospitality industry players to recognise the vital role chefs play in the sector.

Mr Quainoo, the Head Chef at Alisa Hotel, speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, said chefs were the backbone of the hospitality industry, as they worked tirelessly behind the scenes to create unforgettable culinary experiences that left lasting impressions on guests.

He described the works of chefs as the secret ingredient to the success of the hospitality industry.

He emphasised that chefs were not just cooks, but artists, innovators, and masters of their craft adding that, they brought people together, fostered cultural exchange and drove economic growth through their creativity and expertise.

Chef Quainoo explained that chefs played a vital role in showcasing a hotel or restaurant’s brand and identity stressing that it was a fact that their innovative dishes and menus reflected the establishment’s values, style, and commitment to quality, setting it apart from competitors.

“Without Chefs, the restaurant would be empty, our hotels would lack warmth, and our tourism industry would suffer, hence it’s time we celebrate their contributions and treat them with respect and the admiration they deserved,” he added.

He explained that by recognising the value and importance of chefs, Ghana could build a stronger, more vibrant hospitality industry that showcases the best of Ghanaian culture and community.
