Nkwanta (O/R), Aug. 31, GNA – Deputy Superintendent of Prison (Rtd) Daniel Machator, the Oti Regional Minister, has called for effective collaboration between local assemblies and chiefs in executing government projects.
He said traditional leaders played a pivotal role in mobilising community support and ensuring that government policies resonated the local populace.
DSP (Rtd) Machator made the remarks when he addressed chiefs from the various traditional councils in the Nkwanta South Municipality during a tour to the area.
He said that by working closely with local assemblies, chiefs could help bridge the gap between the government and the people; fostering a sense of ownership and accountability in development projects.
DSP (Rtd) Machator also lamented about the rising insecurity in the area, which had retarded development.
He urged the Assembly and Chiefs to establish regular communication channels to facilitate the sharing of ideas and resources, which would ultimately lead to more effective governance.
The Regional Minister urged the staff of the Assembly to perform their duties diligently.
He expressed satisfaction with the ongoing projects in the Municipality but stressed the importance of timely completion during his inspection.
Mr Yaw Evans Dapaah, the Oti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party, called on the people to recognize the importance of their votes and choose NPP, highlighting the need to reject NDC this time round after voting for them for decades.
