Tema, Aug. 22, GNA — The Nkroful Community Development Association (NCDA) will launch the second edition of the ‘Journey To Nkroful’ (NkrumahFest) on September 4, 2024.
Mr. Nana Adu Bhonerg, the project coordinator for the NCDA, said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency, that as part of the association’s efforts to promote the event, the launch would be done at the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park to attract the public.
Mr Bhonerg said the ‘Journey to Nkroful’ was designed to celebrate the legacy of Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, Ghana’s first president, in grand style.
He said the goal was to honour the posthumous birthday of the esteemed Dr Nkrumah and to contemplatively reflect on his remarkable achievements and lasting impact on the nation.
He said they aimed to commemorate his legacy by acknowledging the significant contributions to Ghana’s development and celebrating the enduring impact of his leadership, vision, and values.
He said the event, which has now been accepted as a festival for the people of Nkroful and all the Nzema people, saw a great turnout in its maiden edition last year.
Mr. Bhonerg expressed optimism that this year’s edition would build on that success and further solidify the event as a key cultural celebration.
