Dambai (O/R) Aug 6, GNA – The Oti Regional Secretaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have expressed satisfaction with the Electoral Commission’s mop-up registration exercise that took place across the nation.

The EC set aside the last three days for the mop-up exercise to help eligible Ghanaians, who were unable to register in the mass registration of voters, which ended on May 2024, to do so.

Mr Jonathan Akpabeh Manu, the Oti Regional Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who spoke to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) said the mop-up exercise had been largely successful.

Mr. Gabriel Kwame Lemboe, the Oti Regional Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), giving his impressions about the exercise indicated that although it was peaceful, it fell short of their expectations.

He explained that the EC could have added more days to afford people the opportunity to register, adding that many people are still going to be disenfranchised simply because they might not be able to register.

The executives commended the EC officials and the people of the region for the peaceful way they went about the exercise.
