GNA’s Kenneth Odeng Adade chairs 49th SWAG Awards Nomination Committee

Accra, Aug 23, GNA- Mr Kenneth Odeng Adade will chair the 49th Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG) Awards Nomination Committee. 

The seven-member committee, made up of experienced Sports Journalists, industry experts, and respected personalities had been tasked to meticulously review and nominate outstanding achievers in various sports categories. 

He would be assisted by Mr Maurice Quansah, Member, Ms Matilda Dimedo, Secretary, Mr. Gabriel Obu, Member, Mr Bright Yeboah Taylor, Member, Mr. Yaw Kyei Baffour, Member, and Mr Mohammed Shaban, Member.  

Since 1974, SWAG has continued to honour the outstanding achievements of deserving Ghanaian sportsmen, sportswomen, teams, and officials in various disciplines. 

The awards also recognise the contribution of individuals and organisations that contribute positively to the development and promotion of Ghana’s sports. 

Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, President of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana said “We are delighted to assemble this committee, comprising distinguished individuals who share our passion for sports excellence.”  

He said the committee would ensure a comprehensive and impartial nomination process, reflecting the best of Ghanaian sports.  

“The SWAG Awards have been a benchmark for sports excellence in Ghana for nearly five decades. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards, and this nomination committee will play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity and credibility of the awards,” He added.  

The nominees would be announced in December ahead of the awards ceremony scheduled for January 24, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Center.
