Kasseh-Ada, Aug. 29, GNA-The Ada Cluster of Projects of Compassion International, a non-government organisation, has celebrated this year’s International Youth Day in the Ada East District to encourage the youth to value the importance of acquiring technological skills.
Mr. Elvis Tettey Teye, the Partnership Facilitator for the Ada Cluster, noted that this year’s theme, ‘Click to Act: Youth Digital Empowerment for a Greener Tomorrow,” is to encourage the youth to embrace and utilise the digital world positively.
He said the Ada Cluster, which was made up of members from Ningo, Akplabanya, Kasseh, Puteh, Big Ada, and other places, had almost 3,800 youth, noting that Compassion International saw the youth as important in community development, adding that they must therefore leverage technology and sustainability to take development higher.
He encouraged parents to take the education of their wards seriously, adding that parents should expose them to the computer’s benefits as it was the current trend being used to enhance development.
Mr Blessing Ofoe Dordoe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Mission Prints at Kasseh, said mobile phones when used responsibly, could greatly aid in a child’s learning and development.
Mr Dordoe encouraged parents to see these devices as valuable educational tools and to monitor their children’s activities to ensure they benefit from them.
The youth day celebration was marked with a town procession, cadet drills, cultural performances, talent displays, and many more to celebrate and empower the youth in the communities.
