2024 Elections: Churches urged to preach, pray for peace ahead of elections

Accra, Aug. 22, GNA – The Reverend Frederick B. Dadson, Assistant Leader of the Ghana Evangelical Society, has urged churches and Christians to preach and pray for peace before, during and after the 2024 elections.

“According to the Lord, people have wielded weapons of destruction against the nation. The Lord warns that the Church and therefore the people of Ghana should not take this lightly.

“The urgent call now is for the Church in the land to arise and be vigilant, standing within the gates and upon the walls of our nation,” he said.

Rev. Dadson said this during a press briefing organised by the Society to inform the public on the decree of the Lord to the nation ahead of the 2024 elections.

The address was premised on the theme: “No weapon formed against Ghana shall prosper. Let Ghana be still and know that God is God. He reigns and rules in the affairs of the nation.”

He said Ghanaians needed to call on the name of the Lord and rise in prayer against persons who may want to ferment chaos as the country headed to the polls.

He said the Lord had promised that no confusion shall stand, saying, any attempts to cause any disaffection or destabilise the country would not stand.

“The Lord has promised His people that He will provide succour for the land. He will be the security to Ghana. Ghana is in peace and shall be in peace. Let no one disturb the peace God has blessed the nation with,” he added.

Rev. Dadson said there would be peace before, during and after the elections and what God wanted was for Ghanaians to call upon His name.

He urged the media to also be part of the peace preaching process by using their platforms to disseminate issues of peace.
