Sunyani mechanics unhappy about delays in road works

Sunyani, July 24, GNA – Mechanics at the Sunyani main garage, have called for the speedy completion of access roads in the enclave to improve their working environment.

In an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) during a visit to the garage, the mechanics said they were unhappy about the delay in the construction of the stretches around the Bono Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) area.

According to them, construction of the access roads had obstructed their work, and thereby making it extremely difficult for their clients to visit their shops for servicing and repairs.

One of them, only known as Alhassan, told the GNA “work on the project is too slow. The work has blocked the entrance to our shops, and we are losing our customers”.

“You come to work and do nothing because customers cannot come to the shop. That has affected our income, and it is now very difficult to provide for the family needs,” he stated.

“The uncontrolled dust emanating from the construction works is killing us slowly and the contractor must speed up the work,” Alhaji Musah, heavy-duty engine specialist stated.

However, Mr Yeboah Asiamah, a Sprayer, indicated that “contractor is doing good work” and commended the government for the project.

“Our only prayer is that the contractor would be able to finish the work in this political season before it is abandoned after the December 7, polls”, he stated.
