National Fire Service rescues 10 accident victims on Cape Coast-Takoradi highway

Cape Coast, July 22, GNA-The Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) in Cape Coast promptly responded to a vehicular accident on the Childcare School junction portion of the Cape Coast-Takoradi highway on Sunday, July 21, around 0633 hours.  

Ten out of the 15 victims were rescued and handed over to the National Ambulance Service.  

The other five were sent to the hospital earlier. 

All 15 victims were sent to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital for medical treatment in three Ambulances.  

Fortunately, there was no reported fatalities. 

Divisional Officer III, Abdul Wasiu Hudu, the Central Regional Public Relations Officer of GNFS, informed the Ghana News Agency that the GNFS rescue team arrived at the scene at 0640 hours and successfully extricated 10 victims.  

The victims were travelling from Takoradi to Accra in a Toyota Hiace with registration number GB 2053-22, which veered off the road and landed in the bush.  

Investigation into the cause of the accident is currently ongoing.
